Dr. Ishrat Husain is a Pakistani banker and an economist, who is the Dean and Director of the Institute of Business Administration, Karachi. Dr. Ishrat is also the pioneer of entrepreneurial ecosystem in Pakistan as IBA established the first Centre for Entrepreneurial Development in collaboration with Babson College USA. Dr. Ishrat was the Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan, Pakistan's Central bank from 2 December 1999 to 1 December 2005.
